Mary Boardman
Owner

I started my career in positions which capitalized on my following strengths:  communications, interpersonal, and administrative skills; ability to meet goals and objectives and work well with others; and highly professional.

My corporate career started in 1985 when I was given an internship with GE Aircraft Engine Group while attending Sacred Heart University.  From that point on, my career with GE Capital began.  I was very fortunate to have learned from the best!  Besides my computer skills, GE Capital provided me with such training as “Managing Personal Growth” and “Administrative Leadership Series."

I maintained databases for my departments that pertained to various functions at GE Capital and for the Chairman and CEO of GE Capital.  I worked in three divisions of GE Capital (Commercial Real Estate, Human Resources and Corporate Community Relations) and was responsible for monitoring and editing incoming Commercial Real Estate deals.  In Corporate Community Relations I planned and maintained numerous employee volunteer programs/projects for GE Capital.  It was extremely important in my job to organize and schedule interviews, prepare all travel arrangements (US/International), plan and arrange corporate seminars, prepare presentation board pitches, and finally keep the filing system user friendly!

I left GE Capital in 1996 when I had my second child.  I was fortunate enough to keep up my skills by working for a consulting firm which needed part-time help.  From my home office, I helped type invoices, organize daily appointments, and maintained client files.

From 2003-2005, I decided to get more involved in the Fairfield Public School System and was hired by McKinley Elementary School as a Paraprofessional.  I helped support K-2 by providing one-on-one assistance to children who needed extra help in such areas as:  Reading, Writing and Math.  This experience was truly rewarding!

Finally, in October of 2005 I decided to start “Secretarial Solutions.” As I spoke to women who had an array of skills from both their professional and volunteer experience,  I recognized that their variety of skills could be utilized to meet the needs of businesses in Fairfield.  In January 2007, I decided that the name Sound Office Solutions, LLC more accurately reflects our contractor's business expertise. I know each of the contractors personally which enables me to match the right person for the specific needs of your business.  I believe Sound Office Solutions, LLC will give local businesses additional office support and organization they need.
